Overview

Adds a massive library of authentic Ford engines to default BeamNG vehicles and supported mod vehicles. Built using real-life specs and Automation data — from the iconic Coyote 5.0L V8 to the monstrous Godzilla 7.3L and Lima 572CUI crate motors.

Created by JITTERUSA and first released in February 2022, Ford Engines has grown into one of the most comprehensive engine-swap mods on the BeamNG repository — with over 366,000 total downloads and 116,000 active subscriptions. The mod is built using real-life Ford technical specifications combined with engine data exported from the Automation game, resulting in configurations that feel authentic to each engine family.

The mod adds Ford engines and vehicle configs to all default BeamNG.drive vehicles, plus a growing list of supported mod vehicles. Engine families include the Ford Triton V8s, Coyote 5.0L V8 (Gen 2), Godzilla 7.3L V8, Lima 572CUI V8, Megazilla 7.3L V8, Windsor 302CUI V8, FRG 358CUI V8 (Roush NASCAR), and the Aluminator 5.2L V8 crate motor. A wide range of transmission options are also included, from 3-speed automatics through to 10-speed automatics and CVT.

The mod also bundles several quality-of-life additions: an "Unreal" Performance Radiator and Oil Cooler to handle the thermal demands of higher-output engines, and an Adjustable "Unreal" ECU to compensate for BeamNG's default ECU limitations when working with Automation-exported engines. These parts are available on all default BeamNG vehicles.

It is worth noting that the mod is still in Beta status, and engine sounds — while present — can sound similar across different V8 variants due to limitations in how Automation exports audio to BeamNG. The author is actively working on improvements and has shipped 25 updates since launch, with the most recent (v2025.01.02) adding compatibility fixes for BeamNG updates 0.34 through 0.38.
